Central England Concert Band, based in Sutton Coldfield in the English Midlands, is a community band originating from the Black Watch Band in Longbridge Birmingham in 1949.

The Band plays around the West Midlands at both indoor and outdoor events. As a wind band, we collaborate with other musical outfits to provide enjoyable events for audiences of all ages.

We rehearse in the Scout Centre on Aldridge Road, Streetly, Sutton Coldfield on Thursday evenings term-time 8-10pm. We do 6-8 performances each year, growing our hometown following in Sutton Coldfield after being a mainly outdoor event band for some years.

We welcome new members for all sections of our band, Grade 4 is preferred but as a community band we are very flexible. No audition is required but please come have a play to see if we are a good match for each other!

Currently (2026) we are specifically looking for tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, bassoon and French horn players.
